Senior Business Unit Marketing Coordinator (Marketing Assistant)

Synopsis

Leading law firm with African foot print based in Pretoria is looking for an experienced Marketing Assistant to join their team.

Minimum Requirements

3 - 5 yrs relevant marketing experience
MS Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel (Advanced)
A good command of both English and Afrikaans
Excellent written and verbal communication skills -- there is a heavy amount of writing and presenting in this role
Experience handling marketing budgets and forecasting / reporting results
Manage and maintain the marketing budget ensuring that reporting on actual spend is accurate and up to date constantly
Provide input regarding strategic planning and prioritization on behalf of the Head of Marketing and Marketing Committee
Event Management Experience
Ability to work under immense pressure
Experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix
Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
Comfortable working with numbers, metrics and spreadsheets
Detail orientated, with a strategic approach to your work

Matric / Grade 12
A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing
Previous work experience within a legal firm will be an added advantage


Role Description

Strategy
To work with Business Unit to determine and implement marketing strategy – whilst working closely with the Group Strategy and Head of Marketing
To liaise on a daily basis with Partners to fulfil all marketing requirements
Collaborate with other business unit managers to develop go-to-market plans
Project management of the marketing / project plans and implementation of relevant elements within that plan, ensuring all deadlines are met
Proactively take a holistic view of all projects by providing research, event management and strategic planning
Optimise our marketing through email, content, and social channels


Positioning
Build brand awareness in the South African market
Understand Law and service marketing

Client Research
Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization
Detailed research reports, including market and customer information on new and potential clients
Plan approaches and pitches by working with the team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
Take full responsibility for the content and accuracy of these proposals
Present client to potential clients through face to face meetings (practice leaders/ partners and the client), telephone calls and emails
Develop a thorough understanding of client objectives and business requirements, including return on investment objectives, response to tenders and gather for information
Keep accurate records on clients at all times - to update on a daily basis
Provide data/reports showing follow up activity with current and prospective clients

Communications
Collaborate with prominent members of the company, including Partners and PR to craft and pitch press releases and thought leadership columns
Ensuring ongoing internal communications
Maintain branding standards of all internal communications
Proactively working with the businesses to keep communication channels open, and deliver value

Events
Organising relationship building and promotional activities
Coordinate events, assist with event planning, including working with vendors, coordinate and develop timelines for planning, organising, and hosting specific events (i.e. information sharing sessions, client functions, breakfasts)
